The storyline is crazy. It will have you reading faster just to see what's coming next. Can't wait to see more of her work. I recommend this book to anyone who needs a pick me up.

The twists and turns in this story kept me on my toes. I wanted to hate Craig, but he still ended up being sort of likable. The same with Kurt. He was a complete A-hole but his love for his wife was strong. I didn't hate Lashawna but I disliked her a lot. Her butt was trifling as hell. BAM was another likeable character and for a minute seemed more close to Tameka than his brother, Kurt. I was so happy San finally gave love a chance and knowing about Tameka past and how she came from that to a successful business woman as well as San was great. This story had just the right balance of grittiness, betrayal, romance, and secrets. can't wait for part two!

I used to drive an ice cream truck in Long Beach CA and would stop by the pier at a used book store to search the racks of pulp fiction for anything that had a modicum of same sex content.21 years old, knowing that I wanted to meet others of my kind, and the only literature I knew was Well of Lonliness, prison studies and pulp that either had the butch lesbian dying tragically or reformming into a femme.Among the bunch of poorly writen pulp I bought, was a gem written by Claire Morgan. No one dies and they end with the possibility of a long term relationship. It was the first sense of hope that I had as a young lesbian in the sixties. It saved my life.To anyone who is interested in GLB studies, this is a must read as it is a the first historical book with a positive ending.

By A Customer I was introduced to Therese and Carol, the two protaganists in Highsmith's lesbian romance The Price of Salt, my Sophomore year of college in a Gay and Lesbian Lit. Class. The professor told the class she had picked the book becuase it was well written and it presented an interesting twist to a gay love story, no one dies or goes straight at the end(imagine that). This alone is not neccesarily compelling enough to get someone to read Salt, after all, today's gay and lesbian love stories often end in positive and fulfilled ways. But for Highsmith's Salt, written in the 1950s, this was a stretch. The reader will enjoy the subtleness of the prose and the indepth look at the confusion and chaos that can occur when two women come together and realize their mutual attraction and then love for each other. In addition, the novel is a dynamic look at 1950s America as the characters adventure out of New York and off into the Great American Wide Open. I encourage gay and straight readers to venture forth with Therese and Carol. Salt allows a beautiful look into the world of finding one's soul mate and falling in love. Becuase, above all, Highsmith has written a love story, not just a lesbian work of fiction.

Heartbreakingly beautiful By Julie Cao I had never read a single same sex romantic novel before; however, the trailer for the movie version of this book was absolutely beautiful and interesting so I decided to give this book a try (since the movie hadn't come out at the time). I finished the book in one day. I just couldn't put the book down, it was simply too mesmerizing! I wasn't against homosexuality before but I wasn't interested in actively fighting for its rights either. After this book, I finally, truly understand the most universal concept of all: love is love. Love is powerful and beautiful and it should not be a crime to fall in love. Who are we to decide if love between a woman and another woman is as natural as between a man and a woman? In the end, love conquers all. This book exceeded all of my expectations and more. Patricia Highsmith, thank you for such a wonderful read!

COULDNT STOP READING!!!! Spoiler Alert : What Stoneheart did to Lilly was degrading and just awful but then a true love story came out of all it and even though she sought revenge for all the hideous things he did to her, she over came it and in the end, it all came back to haunt him because he suffered through all her sickness which he brought on to a certain degree but in the end she did get him back emotionally and he paid with his heart and her illness but I'm so glad you didn't end it with her death....I was already bawling like a baby.

By Tracie Durbala If you get this be prepared to have endless reading at the palm of your hand. This is a series of 10 books with a bonus one book and even comes bundled with a couple other books with it. Such as "Landon" (along with a special chapter) which by the way is exceptional) and "Never let go" as well as another I am still to get to. So needless to say there is some 40 hours of reading here. And such an awesome price.Anyway, lets stick to the uncovering you books.You do a lot of time hopping at the beginning of book one. It causes confusion in me at first, but doesn't take very long to make connections to the present day situation.These books have such depth and so many twists and turns that it will give you whiplash. But I enjoy being on the edge of my seat. Therefore this did not disappoint.This collection is at times: scary, desperate, frustrating, despicable, vengeful, dark, demeaning, and frankly twisted.At other times it's sweet, sensual, erotic, enlightening, commanding, relentless, hopeful and dare I say loving (?) Yes, say loving.You will come to know Jeremy Stonehart. He is a dashing man. One someone could easily be attracted to if it were not for his cold and callus ways of treating people. Being as successful as he is, is almost an excuse used to describe his mannerisms. I can't begin to break down nearly 2000 pages of these series. Just know that Jeremy had to seek revenge against Lilly. Lilly was held captive by Jeremy in more ways than one. Through the hate and torment, can love occur? Yes, love is always possible. But the journey is one that will leave you feeling desperate, broken, yet renewed and the fulfilled once everything comes full circle.I will not lie and say this is not the darkest books I have read....they in fact are. But this collection was filled with so many layers of psyche that you can not help but become completely absorbed. If there is any collection you should read, this is the one. It will stay with you for days once you have finished. I promise you......

By A Carroll I loved this series when it originally came out and now I have it all together in one set. The best thing about this set is that it comes with the authors entire back catalogue of books including her most recently released ones.
