This is one of those extremely rare gems that are not only entertaining, but can change the way you think and feel!!!I do not use these words lightly.As I read these books, I felt things and saw things in totally new ways. Good ways. Helpful ways. There were shifts in my awareness that I'd needed for so very long.As a survivor of childhood trauma, this series touched me especially deeply. I felt better about myself because of it... more accepting & understanding. This is significant.I am one of a countless population. There are WAY too many of us; survivors of abuse. This set of books has forever changed the way I see and feel about my experience, about myself, my abuser and life. It was therapeutic but in such an exciting, passionate and pleasant way (though not always easy).This series had many edge of my seat moments. It was an exciting ride - full of gasps, many OMG moments, sighs and lots of heavy breathing. It captured mt attention & wouldn't let it go. I didn't want to put it down.I fell in love with the characters & rooted for them, wanting to learn more about them. I got to visit with my beloved Andre many times (yum!) and I had the pleasure of learning & growing alongside of my new friends.There was a depth to the characters & a depth and complexity to this story that is rarely found in books. I rooted for them & genuinely cared about them. I laughed many times and cried a few, as well.I never wanted to leave this world, yet it ended in such a satisfying way that I found myself at peace with it. Happy & sad at the end, in a such a lovely & profound way.I highly recommend this trilogy to adults. Keep an open mind and you're guaranteed to come out better for having read it.~Sensitive victims of abuse/trauma could be affected/triggered emotionally by some content.

Grant and Renata's story is both terrifying, heart- and gut-wrenching, deeply emotional, and so much more than the steamy erotica you've come to expect from Nikki Sex.These are perhaps the best contemporary novels I've read dealing with the subject of the traumatic and lifelong effects of childhood physical, emotional and sexual abuse. Both Grant and Renata have been victims of such abuse, and the way they come together to help heal each other is complex, deeply moving, and unparalleled in its complexity and depth. Along the way are many bumps in the road, a murder mystery to solve and, of course, the appearance of the incredible and fascinating Andre Chevalier.This is not a series for the faint of heart or the under 18 crowd. It's unlike any erotica you've read before and it's message will stay with you long after you've finished reading it.

Michael Riley Sweet Dreams Are Made of This*Abuse: The Complete Trilogyby Nikki Sex“Some of them want to abuse you;Some of them want to be abused”**EurythmicsThis trilogy is composed of three books – Abuse, Accuse, and Avenge.The overall arc of the story through all three books follows the progress from inner darkness, self-blame, and emotional dysfunction of two young people – a man and a woman (no surprise there, I guess.) They are introduced as The Monster and The Mouse.The Monster (Grant Wilkinson), is a man with many secrets, and a burden of guilt and shame which he doesn't understand and can't share with anyone for help in solving his pain. He thinks himself a monster – with evil thoughts and feelings. And, when he looks in the mirror, what sees there is a monster, too – a face mangled on one side by horrendous scars.But it is the scars to his soul that torment him; he feels as if he deserves the scarred face he presents to the world because he feels himself so distorted and disgusting that no matter the apparently successful life he seems to live from the outside, he knows himself to be a fraud and a pervert. He is filled with self-loathing which he doesn't understand.Grant served in the U.S. Army as a sniper. Upon meeting him, and learning of his service, people automatically assume that his scarring is a result of his war-time experiences. He simply provides her with her own space, good food, and a freedom to move about his splendid facilities without fear or supervision. André even provides for Renata a sturdy box, to which she retreats for the sense of security she needs when she is overwhelmed by the world. Which, at first, is pretty much always.From medical and other records, André learns that Renata has been living on the streets since fleeing her home, where she was abused by her father and saw her mother killed. Renata learned about sex literally on the streets, but discovered that she enjoys it. And she has become good at it. Any advocate or police investigator would say that she has repeatedly been sexually assaulted and raped, but Renata simply assumes that her experience is normal, and generally enjoys these encounters.But Renata learned at an early age that speaking out or acting in her own defense results in violence, so she becomes more and more withdrawn, silently accepting her fate and her loss of loved ones, until she is brought to André's attention. Brilliantly, André entrusts Renata with the welfare and care-taking of another, and with this sense of purpose and responsibility, she begins to emerge from her cocoon.And so, in the book Abuse, we have met the damaged souls who are our protagonists.In Accuse, under André's guidance, the Monster and the Mouse bring the insights of their own pain to bear on the salving and saving of one another. And together, the two strive to learn the answers to the dark mysteries of their lives. Who killed Renata's mother? Who killed Grant's father?
