While imprisoned in the clan stronghold, Dalhu learns that Amanda is Annani's daughter and loses even the tiny spark of hope he was clinging to that Amanda'll find a way for them to be together. They'll never be allowed near one another. But Annani enlists Anandur's help and the two of them arrange for Amanda to see Dalhu behind Kian's back. There is a very hot scene that takes place in a bathroom, and for a while it looks as if things will work out between Amanda and Dalhu, but Kian makes sure to blow them apart by forcing Amanda to acknowledge that her lover is her nephew's murderer. Amanda is torn between wanting Dalhu and despising him, and she considers giving Andrew a chance.Meanwhile, Annani wants Kian and Syssi to have a grand wedding, the first ever for the clan, and she shoots down all of Syssi's objections. At first Syssi's reluctant, but when she realizes that Kian is as enthusiastic about marrying her, if not more, as his mother, she accepts. Now all she has to do is plan a wedding for six hundred Immortals in less than two weeks and figure out what to do about her parents. But Syssi's worries are of the happy kind, while Amanda's seem insurmountable. Could she ever be with the man who ordered her nephews murder? I guess we'll have to wait and see how she solves this problem in the next book, Dark Enemy Redeemed.

By Amazon Customer Back at the high rise, Dalhu and Amanda are separated by more than just the many floors between the dungeon in the basement and Amanda's penthouse. Dalhu is thrown into a small cell and his prospects look bleak. He's certain he'll be tortured for information and only hopes for a swift execution. But Amanda is not ready to give up on him and gets Annani and Anandur to help her.When Annani learns from Dalhu that Amanda is in danger from his former ‘Brothers', she comes up with a dangerous plan that has Kian boiling with rage. But Annani ignores his objections and goes ahead with her plan.Kian surprises Syssi with a proposal, which she's sure he meant as a joke. But when Annani starts pushing for a wedding, Syssi discovers that Kian is serious and she panics. She's not ready.I have a feeling that there'll be a spectacular wedding in the next book, but whether it'll be Syssi and Kian's or also Amanda and Dalhu's remains to be seen.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Give me more By Tessa I happen to really love this series, but this book was simply too short! I don't normally complain about the length of a book if the author has me fully pulled in, but if I am simply reading half the story, I have to mention it. I absolutely could not wait for the story of Amanda, but please give me the story and not bits and pieces. The author has some amazing twists on one of my favorite subjects, Vampires, but chopping it all up into multiple books is losing me. So why the four star rating? Every single character IT Lucas breaths to life is one you can't get enough of. I have not been "introduced" to a character that has been created in this series yet that I didn't want more of. Amanda gets five stars and chopping stories gets three, four star review created.

By Laura Freed I originally read this a few months back via NetGalley.Though I lean Right, I'm more of a Gregg Gutfeld (really miss him on Red Eye) person. I'd never read Peggy Noonan (sorry Ms. Noonan!)However, I truly loved The Time Of Our Lives.Her book is really not so much about politics as it is about character (something we lack today).She tells a wonderful story about Joan Rivers (I did not realize Joan was Conservative!).There, of course, are insights about Ronald Reagan.The Time Of Our Lives makes you feel like you're sitting at the table at Sunday Dinner - warm, loved; that even if all is not right with the world, we can learn from what has worked, and try to imitate it.On a personal note, Ms. Noonan is really a woman to look up to; she worked her butt off and came from a working class family, yet she doesn't wear her feminism around a bullhorn around her neck.The odd thing is...though I am a fan of Greg on tv, I actually liked Peggy's book much better than I liked Greg's new book!Just being honest here (sorry Greg)The Time of Our Lives is a great wonderful read to curl up with at the end of a frustrating day; kinda like a glass of wine; it's soothing and inspiring.Loved it.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. I like the way that this novel describes the history of ... By Edward M. I like the way that this novel describes the history of Commandos in WW II. We don't hear much about this and it's generally an untold story. If it had been American soldiers I'm sure there would have been several movies and a TV series about it.The other squads always seem to run into trouble, and the hero's group seems to have smooth sailing. He seems to not be personally impacted by the violence, No PTSD or other impacts.It is worth the read and surprisingly addictive. I look forward to the next in the series and hope it does a good description of the Dieppe Raid, which for Canadians was a really big event.

By Jim Schwebach I spent ten years as a Special Forces soldier in RVN, the Middle East and other areas so I have a little background in the types of operations described in this book. The training and leadership aspects of special operations units described in this series is refreshingly accurate. The combat sequences require the "conscious suspension of disbelief" which is a perquisite for most military fiction. To this point the editing in each of the volumes in this series is awful. The publisher need to fire Mr Spelchek and hire a British proofreader and an editor who has read and understood at least one other military tome.
