For two hundred years, Maksim has kept his true nature as a dragon shifter secret from the humans he lives among. Secrecy means that he can’t allow himself to get too close to any of the men who flow in and out of his life, but that’s never been a problem. Maks doesn’t like complications. He prefers things to stay easy and fun. Lately, though, he’s been restless.
His oldest friend is now mated, and a father, and even though Maks has never wanted a family of his own, seeing his friend Dane’s happiness has started to make him annoyingly dissatisfied with the life he’s been content with for so long. Maks is drawn to spend more and more time in Dane’s territory, and eventually he realizes why when he finds, Devin, his fated mate there.
Fated mates are two halves of the same soul, destined for each other—but fate isn’t going to make it easy on Maks, because the one man Maks needs is also the one he can’t have. Devin is married. Devin has a child, and a pregnant wife.
Regardless of what fate has in mind for him, Devin is not available.
Scorch is the the second book in the Dragon’s Destiny: Fated Mates series. It is a standalone novel with a HEA ending, a satisfying epilogue, and NO CLIFFHANGERS!

It was a wonderful story with action and suspense and a great romance with an amazing HEA ending. How Devin and Maks meet is unique and how Maks courts Devin is very sweet and required a lot of patience that I don't think the normal person would have been able to do.I loved how Devin was not your typical gay man but that he embraced his feminine side. I'm not saying he acted effeminate, but that he had motherly instincts and he embraced it. He was a man who loved children and marriage and everything about that, and when he became pregnant he was excited and loved it. So, I really like that.Sidebar - Yes, this story has Mpreg, so if that is not your cup of tea then you won't like this book. I don't mind it and love it.I also really liked how the author brought in the characters from the first book into this one. It really creates a well blended and wonderful series. The action scenes, dragon fights, towards the end of the book was very exciting and well crafted. It fits in perfectly with the plot and has a great twist to it too.The ending was just great. Beautifully written and exciting and I can't wait to read the next book in the series. I wonder who will be the next pairing. Which dragon is going to meet their fated mate?I highly recommend this book, but also highly recommend you read the first book in the series, Heat.I received a free copy of this book for a fair and honest review.

One word: Wonderful!Devin is human, one of those sweet caring guys that is geeky nerdy and highly intelligent. He has a core of loyalty and sweetness. He is gay yet never acted on it. Instead he's married to his best friend, Sarah. He stepped up to help her, giving her financial, physical, and emotional support. There's more to the story at that point. . . . What matters is Maks thinks Devin is 'taken' and thinks his fated mate is lost to him.Maks is a 200 year old dragon, rather young to be finding his mate. He is able to hold off on claiming and spends a good portion of the story romancing him. Well, developing trust strengthening their connection. There is also the situation with Devin being married to Sarah. . .. .Loved this story. There was the right balance of friends, family, and mates. The North American dragons are few but they're supportive and there for each other. They're becoming a force together and it looks like they'll need to stand together when threats hit close to home. I loved that Devin and Maks brought Sarah and Luke into their 'secret' and the telling was entertaining, too.My only little nit pick was I wanted to know what that mark was that Ivan left on Zach. Was it simply a bruise or something more? How come Devin forgot to mention it to Maks and then no one else remarks on it after all the baby holding? This story is recommended. It truly is wonderful - Another great work by Wolf Specter and Angel Knots. - Dan's Wife

Sexy dragons, incredibly hot, and truly sweet By Sierra I can't believe that I almost didn't read this worrying about the cheating/homewrecking angle. If that is holding you back don't sweat it. This was a neat sequel to have, knowing everything we learned in Dragon Fire. I had wondered what did of dramatic tension we would have to drive the story onward but there were plenty of surprises to keeping everything flowing and exciting. And hot. Lord it was so hot. Specter does a just as good a job with buildup and passion as he does with the actual sex. The frustrated desire is just palpable! But we also great an awful lot of sweet and a little bit of funny. Ty is one of the funniest and most guy-guy characters I know but he also has a tender heart. His antics make me wish that he would be the next fated mate (was that a little hint we got there?). I think Ben will be our next winning bachelor and he's waiting and searched a long time for his sweetheart so that would be great. Back to our featured couple...the pregnancy was captivating and smile-inducing and everyone wishes birth was that easy! The love that these two feel for each other and their clear chemistry was just a joy. I can't wait to read the next in the series!
