I'm totally smitten with Carina Wilder's new series, Plenty of Shift. The story is cute, sweet, fun, humorous, totally unique and so romantic. It is also well crafted, well written in the third person and absolutely adorable. The dialogue is smart, sexy and flows effortlessly. The characters are captivating, engaging and endearing. I am so in love with Miri, the female protagonist of this story. Miri is a cougar and owner of her very own brand new business venture, Plenty of Shift, a matchmaking agency. No, not that type of cougar - shame on you! She's a real live cougar-shifter and her new agency is for shifters! I love it! As a result of a very lecherous boss, Miri is more than ready to leave her old job behind along with her old life and apartment which included a cheating human boyfriend, or rather, now ex-boyfriend. Miri has always been quite successful in matching up her friends with the perfect guy. Unfortunately, she can't say the same for her own relationships which always seem to end in heartache. So when her best friend, Jenn, suggests she start her own business and match people professionally, Miri is all in but when Jenn wants to return the matchmaking favor and introduces Miri to bear-shifter, Malcolm Byrne, the bartender at The Fox and Hound Bar, aka The Bear Bar, she's more than a little reluctant to act on the instant attraction she feels for the handsome, hunky bear. Besides, she refuses to break her own rule of dating only humans because her mother taught her that shifter males are all violent and cheating players but....he is awfully sexy and so very hot...and he seems to be attracted to her as well. Then you have Malcolm, can mix a drink, fix things around the house, keep you safe, and be your cuddle bear, what more can you possibly want! Can't wait to see who Naomi picks from the shifters Miri finds for her in the next one, oh wait! I get to choose! I love this concept!
