So this one, Dragon Fire, is about a dragon shifter Liam. He is an arson investigator for the fire department and at this point in his long life, his inner dragon is fighting for control. It wants what it wants and is forcing Liam towards losing his humanity. Yet. There is a 'cure'.I love the way Wolf Specter writes about shifters. Liam's dragon doesn't talk to him but reacts and influences him without words. He's one author that does it so flawlessly and makes it believable and interesting. No, not humans that are shifters that never shift but a shifter that has an alter ego that wakes up and takes center stage.Shane is a police detective and sent to investigate various arsons, documenting the loss of property. He meets Liam on the job and they both compare notes. From there we get a rich look at both men. Their relationship is based on family, the past, and variables like Liam's dragon. Yes, this is fiction and involves shifters and the ability of a dragon shifter impregnating a human male. I especially loved the epilogue which took the pair a few years down the road, really nicely done and gave the book a satisfying ending. I wouldn't mind seeing a continuation. - Dan's WifeFootnote: We never did learn if it was Liam's dragon behind the arsons. My assumption is he was behind the first two (his memories and the timeline with when he forgot) but not the third although the timing was questionable. How could his enemy know when to strike? And why are bad dragons black? ??

This was a sort of predestined love story - 4,25 stars By JustMe The ancient dragon shifter Liam Morgan who works as arson investigator, meets through his work Shane McKenna and feels an unwelcome attraction. Liam's dragon won't be appeased until he has fathered a child. Apparently dragons, in this interpretation at least, need to father a child regularly or they will go on a rampage. Since Liam is reluctant to act on his attraction to Shane, he contacts the Oracle. The Oracle is a man who finds fated mates for shifters. Of course, Shane is Liam's mate.Shane is the youngest of six siblings. No details are given, but he obviously is not treated nicely by his family. Having seen himself purely as straight, he is a bit confused when he starts to dream about Liam. And not just about today's Liam, but he experiences to go back in time, into another figure, another destiny.As it is said in the blurb - there is a HEA. To get to know how, you must read it yourself. Quite entertaining, especially the epic battle, but a quick read.I have just a small objection - Shane told he has been dating the daughter of a Catholic priest!? Our Catholic priests live in celibacy.

There were some points in the storyline which would have benefitted from more development. As written these events were a bit thin. I was not impressed by Liam's insecurities which seem written more for effect than in support of his character.
